Taste of 'Taters

She's on to the next flavor... sweet potatoes! She's much better with them than the cereal, maybe I just wasn't getting the consistency she wanted. We've gone through a couple of jars already and I think we'll try peas next. I've been tempted by many articles to try making my own baby food, so I may try with sweet potatoes this week. We'll see if I get far beyond that! I'm going to make a lot and freeze some in ice cube trays so that I don't have to be whipping out the food processor all the time. Although it is a fun appliance to use!!

She's doing better overall on the sleep, we've had many nights of just one waking, around 2:30 or 3. But she'll throw us a curve ball after a couple of those and get up several times. We'll try the pacifier first, but if that doesn't do it I will feed her, watching the clock to make sure it's a super short feeding. We don't want to do the cry-it-out trainingat night because we don't want to wake Miles. But I've been "sleep training" at naptime and that has paid off. She's had several days of two 2-hour naps and only cried 30 minutes each time for the first day or so.

Miles needs some sleep training too - How to Stay Asleep Training. He's back to the pre-dawn waking and just will not lay peacefully with us in bed. He wants to watch cartoons which would let us sleep, but I don't want him logging a hour of tube before we've even started the day!! Maybe we'll try sending him back to his room to play quietly. And see if he gets the concept of "quietly."

But enough complaining, it's only sleep, right? There are much more fun things we've done this week, like dressing up for free food! Miles had lots of fun making this cow costume to wear Friday for free Chick-fil-a. But when the time came to parade around as a cow he got a little stage fright. But he made it long enough to get his nuggets, fruit AND an ice cream cone. Lucky kid. And Audrey just watches him thinking "someday.... someday...." Cutie pies!!

Speaking of cutie pies, congratulations to Paula, Rick & Millie who welcomed baby Reed last Thursday. Let us know when you're up for some raucous company!!
