Last days

Audrey graduated from preschool last week. Here she is with Ms. Jennifer and Mr. Chris. She will miss them but is SO ready for kindergarten.

Miles had his last day of 1st grade on Friday. He had a fantastic year with Mrs. Peters! He was awarded th "Mr. Manners" prize on the last day. Makes a mama proud!

The brother

We haven't forgotten about Miles, he is just less willing to take a photo than his sister. He has been busy this spring with school and soccer and lots of legos/reading/drawing. Oh and basketball, he hasn't abandoned his other love. He's been having a great season in soccer. At this stage, the kids play a variety of positions to learn how the sport works. He often plays back near the goal (not keeper, they don't have that yet) and he loves to BOOM the ball way down the field. But he also plays up front too, and has scored several goals for his team. He's looking forward to learning more at soccer camp this summer.

Wishes

Audrey loves to talk when she is supposed to be going to bed. As I quiet her down, I ofter hear, "but I just have so much to tell!" Tonight as we were going to bed Audrey told me that she had made a wish and it never comes true: "I wished on it at the fountain at the mall, and today, and all the time, and it NEVER COMES TRUE!!" [insert sad pouty tears here].

I asked her to tell me what it was, saying that sometimes we need to help a wish come true. She said: I wished for a horse.

Sorry, sweetheart, I can't help that wish along.

But I did tell her we would try to find a place to ride a horse this summer.  Anyone with recommendations, feel free to share!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! and happy start of spring break for us! Saturday we joined in the annual neighborhood egg hunt. It was a little chilly and muddy, but we got candy, so it was a good time.

Today was warmer but rainy. We celebrated with Mass then lunch together. Later it was naps then a movie. And now we begin a lazy spring break week, hopefully with a little more sun and warmth than the snow we had last week.

Number 5

No, it's not time for Audrey's 5th birthday yet. Miles lost his 5th tooth last night! He actually let me pull it out after dinner. The tooth fairy brought him 2 presidential dollar coins.

The highlight reel

Here is a video from yesterday's basketball game - Miles's team is in yellow. He's #2 and shoots a few baskets! Too bad that last one comes right after the buzzer. You can skip ahead to 3:45 to see his action.

SHCS Christmas 2012

Better late than never.... Here is the part in the Christmas program when Miles speaks, and the song following. The kids were the other animals that greeted Christ in the manger: ladybugs, fireflies, butterflies, and grasshoppers.

Miles is playing in his first basketball game today. He's loving it! He even scored a basket.

It's pajama day at the kids' schools. Audrey has her Christmas party and will watch Polar Express. Miles has a party today too, and will watch Polar Express tomorrow. It's almost Christmas break!!
