Tooth #2

Audrey let me pull tooth #2 this morning! It was hanging there and the new tooth was already showing behind. Happy St. Patrick Day and happy spring break!

Best birthday ever!

Happy birthday Audrey! School was delayed two hours so we had breakfast at Krispy Kreme. While here they canceled the rest of the day! Party!

Miles had a field trip to the American Museum of Science and Enegry. The kids loved all of the hands-on experiments, and learned a lot in the two classes that they took while they were there too. Here they are learning about states of matter. The last picture is of his teacher with her hand on the static electricity ball.

Her first day!

Audrey started Kindergarten on Wednesday and loved it! She is a pro at the playground and finding her way around school. She is exhausted after the long days at school too. Kindergarten is hard stuff. This is the first year the K class is staying until 3 (Miles stayed until 2), so it's an adjustment all around. But I have to say, it is so nice to stop in and say hi at lunch time, and to see her when she comes to the library. We're going to have a great year!

Our first day

Today was the first day at Sacred Heart for two of the three in our family. Miles started 2nd grade and I started as the librarian (+ a little tech) teacher.  Audrey starts Kindergarten on Wednesday so we'll have another round of photos then.

Last days

Audrey graduated from preschool last week. Here she is with Ms. Jennifer and Mr. Chris. She will miss them but is SO ready for kindergarten.

Miles had his last day of 1st grade on Friday. He had a fantastic year with Mrs. Peters! He was awarded th "Mr. Manners" prize on the last day. Makes a mama proud!

The brother

We haven't forgotten about Miles, he is just less willing to take a photo than his sister. He has been busy this spring with school and soccer and lots of legos/reading/drawing. Oh and basketball, he hasn't abandoned his other love. He's been having a great season in soccer. At this stage, the kids play a variety of positions to learn how the sport works. He often plays back near the goal (not keeper, they don't have that yet) and he loves to BOOM the ball way down the field. But he also plays up front too, and has scored several goals for his team. He's looking forward to learning more at soccer camp this summer.

Wishes

Audrey loves to talk when she is supposed to be going to bed. As I quiet her down, I ofter hear, "but I just have so much to tell!" Tonight as we were going to bed Audrey told me that she had made a wish and it never comes true: "I wished on it at the fountain at the mall, and today, and all the time, and it NEVER COMES TRUE!!" [insert sad pouty tears here].

I asked her to tell me what it was, saying that sometimes we need to help a wish come true. She said: I wished for a horse.

Sorry, sweetheart, I can't help that wish along.

But I did tell her we would try to find a place to ride a horse this summer.  Anyone with recommendations, feel free to share!
